Proctology
What is proctology?
In proctology, anus, anal canal and rectum are examined. The most common affections in proctology are haemorrhoids, little fissures, anal abscesses…
Haemorrhoids
Haemorrhoids can cause itching, anal pain, red blood and mucous loss.

Mirha
It can be treated using medication that improves bloodcirculation and local treatments like suppo’s and creames. Sometimes, binding or even surgery is necessary.
Constipation
The definition of constipation is Having bowel movement less than3 times a week. The patient has complaints having hard, difficult and uncomplete evacuating bowel movement. Constipation also often goes along with a bloated stomach, abdominal pains and sometimes even diarrhea, more exactly called « false diarrhea ».

The possible causes are often an inactive large intestine, with the large intestine not contracting a lot or not at all and the bowel movement going very slow or a drying bowel movement when having a loss of liquid intake. Other serious affections can also cause constipation.

Prevention:
  • Do not hold it and take your time
  • Eat more fibers and drink a lot (minimum 8 glasses a day)
  • Do not abuse on laxatives
  • Practice sport
