Dr Alix Danon

I started studying medicine at ULB in 2009 and from my first internships, my interest focused on gynaecology. This medical-surgical speciality, which treats women as a whole at all stages of life, and the close relationship that gynaecologists can build with their patients, soon fascinated me.

I then began my specialisation at St Peter's Hospital in Brussels and the Ixelles hospital. During this five-year training, I discovered the very diverse areas of gynaecology, but my interests soon turned to obstetrics and ultrasound. I then supplemented my knowledge with training in high-risk pregnancies (Paris interuniversity diploma), another in gynaecological and obstetric ultrasound (ULB/UCL/ULG interuniversity diploma), as well as in foetal medicine (Lille interuniversity diploma). Foetal medicine is a comprehensive field that studies foetal pathologies and their prenatal and postnatal treatment.

Currently, I mainly work at St Peter's Hospital in obstetrics and in the foetal medicine team.

Working at Mirha, I wanted to combine my hospital practice with a more personalised gynaecology practice, where I can take more time for a holistic approach in a warm environment. It is a great pleasure for me to be part of this multidisciplinary team around women's health at Mirha.
