Biography

Since 1996, I have graduated as a midwife from the Erasmus High School in Jette.

From 2001 to 2024, I was part of the permanent staff at St Peter's UMC Hospital. At this Brussels reference centre with its high-risk pregnancy service, maternity and delivery room, I was able to draw on my years of experience gained through Médecins Sans Frontières. Indeed, I was in charge of a medical team at various locations worldwide with a view to providing adequate medical care in refugee camps in Indonesia and South Sudan, among others.

In 2002, I decided to stay closer to home and use my vast experience in personal counselling of future parents.Meanwhile, I have also become a mum of two little boys and this experience also helps me in counselling future parents.

Looking for new challenges, I further specialised in diabetes (type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes). I also underwent training in wound care to better perform postpartum perineal care. After all, I wanted to be part of the multidisciplinary pelvic care centre at Mirha.

At this multidisciplinary centre, there is a special focus on women in their postpartum period. Surely, the pelvic floor, pain and special care of this delicate area require a lot of knowledge here, and sharing experience with other specialists is a huge added value.

I have been working in the delivery room at Delta Chirec Hospital in Auderghem as a permanent team member since 2024. Being part of a large team with a wealth of experience, a high-risk pregnancy service and a strong neonatal unit completes the picture for me to be able to give the best of myself to patients in this way.
